Lotus Tag by Zoey

4

Hello everyone!

Zoey's here and today we will create together a very special TAG!

I always loved this quote, "May you exist like the Lotus, at ease in muddy water", since my first yoga less. Yes, Yes, I know, Yoga is more than just a pretty quote...but since I started doing yoga I also started reading quotes about yoga, I am so a stereotype! LOL.

Anyway, the brand new stamp collection by Limor Webber Designs and IndigoBlu : "Lotus" Limor Webber Designs Stamps by IndigoBlu was simply perfect! I love how detailed this stamp is.

As always the base of my projects are upcycled cardboard, so I cut this into a tag shape, and using a brayer, I applied Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft® Gesso. I left some spot without Gesso because I wasn't trying to cover the entire piece, I was just going to add texture.

I randomly cut a few pieces of paper from an old German dictionary and some scraps from Tim Holtz Tissue Wrap and using Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft® Gel Medium I adhered these pieces to the background, overlapping some. Then with a baby wipe I added some more Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft® Gesso

I colored the background with Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft® Gelatos (Pistachio and Cinnamon) and I also added some texture through the stencil "Crafter's Workshop 6x6 Stencil Mini Sketch Grid". After heat setting the modeling paste, I stamped the "Lotus" Limor Webber Designs Stamps by IndigoBlu with Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft® Stamper's Big Brush Pen Chrome Green

With Lindy's Stamp Gang "Industrial Chic" Magicals by Limor Webber Designs I highlighted the texture I created with the modeling paste.

I stamped the "Lotus" Limor Webber Designs Stamps by IndigoBlu, two times over a piece of Manila Cardstock. The first one I left it whole, the second one, I cut all the petals and then adhered to the first stamped image using foam adhesive. To add some color and shine I used again Lindy's Stamp Gang "Industrial Chic" Magicals by Limor Webber Designs.

All that was left to do was to write the quote, and cut it out in smaller pieces and adhered them to the tag. I also added some stamps in the background using "Rugged Edge Stamp" Limor Webber Design stamp by IndigoBlu and some black ink drips with Liquitex Professional Acrylic Ink - Carbon Black.

Here are some photos showing details of the project...

And here's the whole project...

Mixed Media ATC trio by Zoey

8

Hello everyone!

Zoey's here and today we will create together an ATC Trio by using products that you can find in Limor's store.

I started by cutting three pieces of upcycled cardboard, and ripped off some of the paper coating here and there, just like I did in my last project here. Using Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft® Gel Medium, I covered the surface with small pieces of an old book page. I applied Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft® Gesso with a wet baby wipe.  This gesso is really fluid, but using the wet baby wipe, makes it even thinner and semi-transparent.

When the Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft® Gesso was dry, I added some colors with Lindy’s Stamp Gang Industrial Chic by Limor Webber Designs.  I sprayed then heat set the color. Then repeated this process three times, until the desired color was reached.

I stamped these wonderful lamps from the new stamp collection by "Industrial Lamps" Limor Webber Designs Stamp by IndigoBlu. Since I wasn't sure if I was done with the background or adding color, I stamped the images with Archival Ink.

I LOVE these Industrial Lamps!!

I grabbed a piece of manila paper from my stash that was previously inked, and I stamped the  "Industrial Lamps" Limor Webber Designs Stamp by IndigoBlu. One of each Industrial Lamps.
I fussy cut them and adhered to the background with foam adhesive.

I also decided to add some dark around the border, so I added a SMALL drop of Liquitex Professional Acrylic Ink - Carbon Black& and with a wet brush I let the ink go all over the background and sides. To add even more interest to my background I used another great stamp by Limor Webber, "Rugged Edge Stamp" Limor Webber Design stamp by IndigoBlu.

I stamped the sentiment and added to the background using again foam adhesive and I also stacked a bit of green thread behind it to give even more interest.

And here's each ATC I made... this first one might be my favorite one, I love the color on the dimensional lamp!

And here's a look to the whole trio together!

Being Happy Mixed Media Canvas By Zoey

0
Hello everyone! Zoey here for my first post as Designer in this awesome team.

For those who do not know me, I am an Italian mixed media “artist” wannabe who loves playing around with tons of media and dimension! I also love to recycle whenever I can, in fact, for this project I will use one of my favorite “trash to treasure”… cardboard! To start with, I cut a piece of upcycled cardboard and ripped off some pieces here and there. I covered the surface using a sponge brush and Faber-Castel Design Memory Craft® Gesso - I love this gesso because it is very fluid. I made sure not to completely cover my surface.

I grabbed a few pieces of scrap paper from my stash, and I ripped them forming strips of paper. Using Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft® Gel Medium I adhered these strips to the background. I also made sure that some strips were overlapping, to create a bit of dimension. When the Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft® Gel Medium was dry, I covered the surface again with a thin layer of Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft® Gesso. This helps to send my text into the background, and preps my surface for mediums.

When everything was dry, I stamped one of my favorite stamps from the new stamp collection by Limor Webber Designs and Indigoblu: Ink Splat Butterfly Limor Webber Designs Stamps by Indigoblu. I stamped it with Versamark Ink, then I added clear embossing powder and heat set it with a heat gun.  At this point…it was finally time to add colors! I started off by spraying Steel Shimmer, Steampunk Sepia (from the Lindy’s Stamp Gang Industrial Chic by Limor Webber Designs) and CafĂ© au lait (from the Lindy’s Stamp Gang Tres Chic Set by Limor Webber Designs). The clear embossing acts as resist, and helps the stamped image appear through the mists. I kept adding sprays until I was satisfied with the result.

I heat set the sprays and then I added some more texture. First, I stamped with Archival Ink here and there with one of the Rugged Edge Stamps Limor Webber Designs by Indigoblu – this might be another of my favorite stamp sets! Through the Crafter’s Workshop Template 6×6 – Tiny Circles I added a bit of Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft® Whipped Spackle and heat set it to speed up the drying the time. I wanted more colors to help the Whipped Spackle blend into the whole background, so I grabbed some Lindy’s Stamp Gang Industrial Chic Magicals by Limor Webber Designs and with a small waterbrush I applied them to my canvas. I applied the color randomly and when I was ok with the result, again, I heat set everything.

I repeated the same steps above to another small piece of cardboard.Again, I stamped the Ink Splat Butterfly stamp onto a piece of old book page, I added color using the same color combination I used for the background and I fussy cut the butterfly. Over another piece of scrap paper I stamped my quote from the Dylusions Stamps – The Right Words that I also fussy cut.  I gathered all my embellishment pieces: cheesecloth, metal embellishment and twine, then began assembling my layers. I use the Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft® Gel Medium to glue all the embellishments and layers together. Here’s some detail photos…as you can see all of the texture going on!

I love that you can still see the splattered background from the Ink Splat Butterfly Limor Webber Designs Stamps by Indigoblu.

The sentiment had other words, but I only used the parts that I needed…

And here’s the final project :
