Shabby Chic Altered Cigar box

13
Hello crafters!!
I have been wanting to share this project with you for over a month!!! I am very fortunate to have a husband that provides me with a large quantity of cigar boxes so it is kind of a hobby to alter them.  I crated this project for an amazing friend and designer Leanne ( AKA - Luvlee Scrappin).  I have never had so much fun altering a cigar box as much as I did this time.  I really wanted this to be special for Leanne and if you see what she sent me you will fall off your chair!!
I created this dresser using the new Marie Antionette collection by FabScraps as well as the amazing Iamroses flowers.
Here are some close ups of the project and all product information will be bellow the photos.  Thank you for stopping by!

"Dreamer" Layout - Marie Antionette Collection

1
Hello crafty friends!

On Friday I created a Mixed Media tutorial video of this layout using the Marie Antionette collection by FABSCRAPS.

As I was creating with this paper line, I could not help but fall completely in love with every paper and every embellishment in this collection!! It is for sure going on my top 10!!!
One of the most unique pieces that I love is the coordinating cutouts that go with the chipboard to create that beautiful shabby chic perfume bottle on the bottom of the page.  For those that missed it here are a few more pictures as well as a full tutorial and a full product list.

Tuesday Ustream Live - Prima Layout

1
That was such a fun show!! For this show I wanted to create a layout following the Prima BAP challenge for September and showcase how to layer and add mixed media techniques to your layouts.  I have to say two of those three items got accomplished....Layering ( check!), Mixed Media Techniques (check!).... following a template ( well, not so much LoL!).  I don't usually design with sketches so I find it quite funny that I started looking at the sketch and then my creativity just started taking over.  I love the way the layout turned out but as for a submission to the Prima BAP challenge - well, I'll have to create a new layout.
Here is the recorded show for those that missed it and the photos of the finished project! Thanks to all you amazing crafters that keep supporting me week after week! you are all amazing!!
Hugs!!!

Mixed Media Friday Sept 14, 2012

7
It is not often that I feel un-inspired but after fighting the stomach flu for two days I can honestly say that crafting was not on my mind.  I found myself forcing my body off the couch and head to my studio even though I could barely put a thought together....I learned a very valuable lesson last night.... Are you ready?!   I realized that so much of our sicknesses come from our state of mind.  As soon as I started spraying on my page, I started to feel my little happy endorphins going into high gear LoL!!! I swear that by the end of that creation I was feeling so much better and inspired to start my day....the only issue was that it was midnight and bed was probably the way to go ;).  I hope today's tutorial inspired you to get off the couch and create no matter how you are feeling.
Happy Friday Crafty Friends!!!!
