Mixed Media Friday "moments" layout

Do you ever have an idea when you start creating and then somehow what you created was nothing like the idea you had in your head?!!! well this is kind of how mixed media friday went for me.
I really wanted to do something that was full of texture and and gunk and I think in the end it turned out just the way it was supposed to.  I know mixed media grunge isn't everyone's style but I want to try and cover everyone's styles as I receive so many requests for all different tutorials.

SUPER EXCITING NEWS!!!

I have been teasing you all on my shows about some big news and I am super excited to finally be able to share it with you all!!
I have been invited to be part of the Prima Education team and I of course accepted the invitation!!!

It has been a total dream to be an educator for me and I've certainly been on my way to do that but I have always had my heart with Prima.  I have been designing with Prima products since the very beginning and it has been a total dream to one day be able to join the Prima family.
So what does this mean?! well... I will be traveling all over teaching Prima classes at your favourite Local Scrapbook Store and events.  My first trip is to Israel where I have 4 workshops that I will be teaching so check out the Classes tab if you are interested in registering for any of those workshops in Israel.  As for the rest of you I am currently planning several trips but if you want me in your area contact your Local Scrapbook store and let them know you would like to have me there and I will try and make it happen!

"Bed Time Stories" Altered Vintage Book

Hello crafty friends!!!
I'm super excited to share this project with you that I created using the amazing Little Peeps collection by FabScraps.
You know when you get an idea but you aren't quite sure how it's going to turn out.... well on one of my many nights with insomnia, I went to work on this off the page vintage book to create a pop up story book.
The Little Peeps collection was designed with all the wonderful popular little stories we all grew up reading and of course the line has the amazing chipboard pieces to just make this collection divine.
I am a fussy cutting junkie so I really took my time and cut all the wonderful images in the paper line.  To finish off the project I added some Prima flowers which made this book totally magical.
I will be having an on-line class with kits for this particular project so as soon as kit supplies arrive I will post the link for you all.

Mixed Media Friday "Reach" Tag - Featuring Ingvild Bolme products

Hello crafty friends!

It's friday once again and I truly look forward to fridays where I get to create a super fun tutorial for you all and in turn it gets me inspired to create and get started on my day.
It's no surprise I'm in love with Invild Bolme's Vintage findings collection - from the resins, to the metals and how about those amazing little chalk inks!
I am often asked what my favourite products are so I thought friday would be a great day to incorporate my favourite products into mixed media friday.

In a previous Ustream class I showed you how to create a super cute hot air balloon using the package from the cute Junkyard Findings Lightbulbs.

So you don't have to watch an entire hour and a half of class re-cap here is a short tutorial on how to create this hot air balloon and a new way to use the chalk inks.

Scrap That Guest Spot Layouts

Hello Crafters
As you know I was asked to be a guest Designer for Scrap That
Here are two layouts I created with the wonderful kit they sent and I wanted to give you a more in depth look at how I created these layouts.

Layout 1

This corner of the page has so many little details, This chipboard piece came with a beautiful ornate frame which I used in the next layout, so much versatility!.  The chipboard is inked with Prima Chalk Inks and a little bit of Lindy's Stamp Gang Scintilating Silver Glitz Sprits

I am addicted to using packaging so I decided to use the beautifully stitched Prima packaging as my photo mat.  

Nothing is more fun the ripping and creating folds on your layouts which is what I did at the corner of the layout.  I pulled out my favorite punches and created all those wonderful layers that you see underneath the Dream chipboard sign.

A little fussy cutting can sure make your page pop especially if you layer it which is what I did here.  Add some Prima flowers and you have yourself a page!

Layout 2

This page is full of dimension, I really wanted to add a little bit of my Mixed Media touch to these pages so I used the beautiful brick stencil by The crafter's workshop to create the background

I could not resist but to fussy cut this paper to death!!! it screamed at me to cut it up!!! I love my dies which is what I this page mostly consists of

For the title I used that chipboard piece I spoke of earlier and inserted one of the sentiments from the paperline to create the title.
